So if any of you wonder what ever happened to me. I have been working on this project for animation class. The assignment was originally to combine pixelation and hand-drawn animation. But it was expanded to learn After Effects for me at least.
My friend Alyssa acted for me and I took photos of her. I then cut them all out in photoshop which was hard because of a low contrast background. I then had to make her walk in place and had to resize her. Eventually the photos tracked correctly. Next I hand drew my flower dancers. They were shot on a down shooter and then colored in photoshop with the animation option. I drew the clouds, bushes, and the animation of the water all in photoshop. Everything was brought over to After Effects and compiled. Textures were added as well.
I have asked a friend to make some music for me : D
My teacher Mike Patterson helped me a lot to learn After Effects! Thanks so much to him!
Our school focuses more on character animation, but we do have a few teachers that are experimental animators. One of them even combined dancing and animation and made it into an art form in the 80's: [link]
